Commentary:

Before we begin, let’s not ignore injuries, but just admit that shit happens. Goldy won’t be top-25 production at season’s end but he’s there now and we’ll say if you picked him in the first round you did well. No shame in taking Tulo either, beyond knowing he gets hurt every year and thus knowing you should have sold him. Similarly, Melky doesn’t make legit top-25 production without injuries to others, and Rendon doesn’t even see the field in Washington without injuries on his own team, but there they are. We’ll just accept it. Now:

–Outside O-Rank’s top-5 uber-studs, of whom two cracked the top-10 and all are delivering first round value (including Goldy for now), it’s a complete crapshoot. Robby Cano, my pick for #3 overall, is getting out-produced at 2B by Altuve (O-Rank 93) and Rendon (250). Oops. Sorry about that Frodo. But Cano’s not a total bust. You could have had CarGo eh?

–My own team’s success has rather nothing to do with trades (I took the most abuse on trading for Strasburg…currently providing 11th round value at #144). It was more about the draft: every league I was in I reached for Carlos Gomez at the 1-2 turn, and he’s top-10. I “reached” for Jose Abreu (well, MDC didn’t think so) in the eighth-to-tenth round,… another top-10 pick. I just trade because I’m bored.

–Anyone depending on O-Rank is welcome to it. O-Rank’s for suckers.
