Saget–Shagsters Deal

April 8, 2016

Saget gives: Dustin Pedroia, Ender Inciarte, Jimmy Rollins, Jake McGee

Shaggy gives: Luke Gregerson, Ken Giles, Josh Harrison

Shaggy wins this deal because he got Ender Inciarte, a player this desk really likes. 20+ SB type who won’t hurt your OBP.

Moving along, Harrison and Pedey are kind of the same guy–better real-life ball players than fantasy players. Harrison does have position eligibility but if you’re not mostly playing him at 2B you’re in trouble. While Harrison will get a few more SB, Pedey should do better in OBP, R, and RBI.

The McGee for Gregerson/Giles thing is a matter of taste. I’d rather get McGee because I don’t want handcuffs this year. Handcuffs take up space. But we’re all adults here so if you want handcuffs, whips, ball gags, whatever, that’s up to you.

Jimmy Rollins is a 10/10 type best traded to someone who remembers J-Roll from five-plus years ago. But if you need to run him, you can. A bonus point.

Shaggy runs away with this deal on the strength of Inciarte.

In related news, Saget has fallen back on streaming and, going forward, seems pretty much fucked.
